‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: Has a ghost from the past already filmed appearance?

ArrowArrow” loves to have its surprises, and they certainly unveiled a big one last month when they made it clear that a certain ghost from the past was going to be coming back for an additional appearance.

Who is this man? We’re talking about Tommy Merlyn, who was killed off at the end of the first season. We learned recently that for an upcoming episode, we were going to see a sort of crazy moment where Oliver Queen comes very close to encountering his friend while in Hong Kong, which could have changed the very course of history had the two parties actually met. However, that didn’t happen, and the two did not actually end up becoming pals again until after Oliver returned back to Starling City.

Based on messages from social media, Colin Donnell has already stopped by and taped his oh-so-sweet reunion-of-sorts, which will air at some point early in the third season. The one unfortunate thing about his appearance here is that he inevitably did not spend a whole lot of time working with the other cast members, given that he never knew that Oliver was alive at the time. This is more of a cool Easter egg moment for those who have watched the show since the very beginning of it.

The season premiere of “Arrow” airs on The CW Wednesday, October 8. You better believe we’ll have a whole lot more news related to it before then.
