Is ‘Big Brother 16’ new tonight? Reason for likely delay

If you are on the East Coast tonight, you better prepare for something that CBS viewers know far too well right now: Delays thanks to sporting events.

Specifically in this case, we are talking about live golf coverage that could push the lineup of “Big Brother 16” and “Reckless” a little later than usual. Typically when we have this phenomenon, it’s coming at the result of NFL football in the fall. Still, this does tend to happen to “Big Brother” at least on one occasion this season.

If you are on the West Coast, meanwhile, there’s nothing to worry about as usual … while you guys do have the unfortunate bummer of having to watch things three hours later, at least you rarely have to wait any longer than that.

Does this typically impact viewership for these shows? Maybe a little, but never anything to make CBS worry. The ratings for “Big Brother” tend to stay pretty steady regardless, and the other thing that they have going for them right now is that they also make plenty of money for their sport coverage.

Tonight’s “Big Brother” episode is set to contain not just the end of the Head of Household Competition, but you are also going to see the Battle of the Block and nominations. Wednesday will be the Power of Veto, and Thursday will be the first enormous double-eviction of the season. The only thing that we can promise with this is that there are going to be a whole ton of fireworks.
