‘America’s Got Talent’: Lindsey Stirling to return for August 6 results show
One of the fun little quirks about “America’s Got Talent” is that thanks to sheer probability or potential flaws in the way in which acts advance, many of the most successful acts in the history of the show are not the ones who live. Jackie Evancho ended up in second place, Jessica Sanchez and Thia Megia’s performances paled to what they did on “American Idol,” and the Jabbawockeez has to rely on other shows and performances to really find themselves as a success.
Ultimately, what some acts do not realize here is that what matters most is what you do after the show to keep you successful, and not what you do on TV. That stuff gets forgotten about quickly. Sometimes, you also have contestants like Kevin Skinner and Michael Grimm who just work better on TV, when you can have their story out there along with their music.
With all of this being said, we’re glad that Lindsey Stirling is going to be heading back to NBC on Wednesday night. It’s been a long time since we have seen Stirling on the show, and back when she was in 2010, she was eliminated at the top 48 phase of the competition. Heck, judge Piers Morgan at the time even buzzed her. Since that time, though, she has worked extremely hard, developed a huge YouTube following, and done enough for the show to invite her back as a real success story. In the end, though, we feel like her own social-media savvy ended up helping her more than the show did.
We know that she will be joined for this performance by Lzzy Hale, so this should be a pretty awesome performance during the show.
