‘The Newsroom’ season 3: Jane Fonda looks back, to the future, and more
Even though we have not had a new episode of “The Newsroom” on the air in quite a long time, that is not stopping us from providing as much coverage as possible related to the show!
In the video below, for example, you can see Jane Fonda talk about something that is always popular this time of year with GoldDerby: The Emmys. Fonda has a much-deserved nomination for Guest Actress in a drama series, and in this interview, she discusses that, the past season of the show, and so much more.
Given where season 2 of the show left off, it’s fair to say that the third season will need to feature a little bit of Fonda’s Leona Lansing in order to have this story fully told. Aaron Sorkin needs to establish the state of ACN following Operation Genoa, the relationship between Will and Mackenzie, and whether or not this station can continue to function in a world where it’s harder and harder to be on cable news with so many younger people all opting to get their news elsewhere.
The thing that we’re saddest about is that we still feel like there were a few more years’ worth of stories left to be told here, but sometimes in the world of TV, you see the final curtain dropped long before you’re ready to see it happen. You can most likely expect to see the show air on HBO this fall, but there is nothing official yet.
