‘The Originals’ season 2 spoilers: Candice Accola’s Caroline and crossover possibilities

While we have seen the appearance of some characters from “The Originals” on “The Vampire Diaries” and vice-versa, we still know that the one that most want to see out there is Candice Accola’s Caroline somehow finding a way to make it to New Orleans. We saw her and Klaus getting together (albeit very briefly) on the flagship show last season, and thanks to that, everyone is waiting for the next chapter in the story.

Unfortunately, you’re probably going to be waiting for a while given that Caroline really has no reason to go to the Big Easy, and the big “will they or won’t they?” romance with her right now involves Stefan. As Julie Plec, executive producer for both shows, said during the Comic-Con panel this weekend, the biggest issue with making this crossover happen is logic:

“In order for Caroline to enter the New Orleans universe and engage with Klaus at any level, it’s got to be an organic fit … that could take some time.”

There is at least one crossover that Plec and the writers are thinking about right now for the two shows, but being secretive as always, she was not so keen to drop hints on what this could specifically be.

Instead, what we have to look forward to right now for “The Originals” season 2 is further violence, the return of Mikael, a complicated story now for Hayley and Elijah, and maybe even the return of Kol. This is something that was strong hinted at in the trailer for the new season, which you can see here.
