‘Halt and Catch Fire’ episode 9 video: Joe’s Las Vegas nightmare starts early

The moment that you saw Joe, Donna, Cameron, and Gordon take off like a ragtag group of misfits to COMDEX in Las Vegas on the last episode of “Halt and Catch Fire,” you knew that there were going to be more troubles that awaited them at almost every turn. After all, how else do you expect there to be an interesting episode ahead?

The first issue that the group runs into is something that Joe was clearly not planning for: The credit card for Bosworth not working, and for the account to be frozen already in the midst of the investigation into Cardiff. He had given a fake name for the reason of passing himself off, and once he did that, there was no other way to then pass himself off as Joe. This means no room, since the hotel already has a number of other people sitting on a waiting list for it.

Since Joe claimed that this hotel was a real part of the success strategy, he is going to have to try and figure out another way to get a place for him and his colleagues to sleep. When it comes to the presentation, they’re almost sure to get eyeballs … if for no other reason than that there will be a demand to see whatever sort of trainwreck comes out of the presentation. Many will have heard about what happened to Cardiff, and will be wondering how in the world they could have a portable that does anything close to what is advertised.
