‘Suits’ season 4, episode 7 spoilers: Rick Hoffman on Louis Litt’s next move

Louis -Rick Hoffman continues to be on our list for the biggest “sleeper performers” on TV, as in someone who night in and night out gives you amazing stuff, and then really does not expect to get anywhere near the credit that he deserves for it after the fact.

In Wednesday night’s “Suits” episode entitled “Litt the Hell Up,” we really do wish somebody did recognize just how incredible Hoffman’s work was. He had this huge moment of victory that was played flawlessly when Harvey uttered a Litt catchphrase back at Louis for a job well done, only for the actor to know the whole time that it was a ruse. Louis didn’t achieve greatness; he ignored a law being broken by Forstman just out of fear of rejection and Harvey being disappointed in him again.

So how do you move forward from this facade? That will be interesting to see, given that while Louis is a schemer, he’s always someone who tends to go so far with the moral high ground that he attacks viciously anyone who is not with him. While Hoffman can of course only say so much, he did comment on the character’s future with this Entertainment Weekly quote:

Louis is going to try his best to do what he always does, which is to be loyal to Harvey and to the firm, and to always do the right thing. Like most things in life, nothing ever goes 100 percent your way all the time. This could definitely not be a good thing for the firm, for Harvey, for Jessica, for Louis. Louis is right now staring at something that I don’t think he’s ever had in front of him before, and it’s going to be interesting from this point forward to see: Does it change him?”

The one thing that we do know right now is that based on “Suits” history, this is not a situation that will be going away for Louis anytime soon. He’s going to have to deal with the ramifications for this move in time, and this could send the house of Litt crumbling right to the ground. Given our love for the character, nothing will make us sadder.
