‘Arrow’ season 3 spoilers: First look at Colton Haynes’ Roy as Arsenal

The moment that Roy Harper managed to get his good sense back on “Arrow” last season, you could probably see the birth of Arsenal coming around the bend. This is one of the characters that Roy was an alter ego for in the comics, and the show was clearly going in this direction with him.

We’ve already seen Roy take out plenty of people before (not all of them bad), but for the first time in the season 3 premiere, he’ll have a costume to do it with. If you put him side-by-side with Oliver, it’s almost like Christmas with the red and green!

You can see the first photo of Arsenal to the left courtesy of Entertainment Weekly, and it’s about as awesome as you could really hope for. You fittingly have the mask and the entire outfit, and it looks like he has been trained enough in the ways of the arrow to have one for himself.

The only thing we’re wondering right now is this: When is Diggle going to get his own costume? Seriously, the guy has been working alongside Oliver Queen a heck of a lot longer, and the only thing that he gets is a suit. Then again, we imagine that if everyone sees Oliver and Diggle together in real life, then having him fight alongside Oliver in a costume may narrow down some of the possible candidates. It’s not like Oliver and Roy are best buds, since their biggest connection is Thea (who is not even really around right now thanks to her teaming up with Malcolm Merlyn).
