‘Major Crimes’ season 3, episode 8 preview: Luke Perry and a clueless case

Major Crimes -So many times on “Major Crimes,” we have seen a super-serious story that brings major issues to late, and gives us a whole lot to process. Luckily, that’s not going to happen on next week’s episode entitled “Cutting Loose.” Instead, what it looks like we are going to have moving forward is one of the funnier-sounding episodes the show has brought to us in some time.

You may have heard a little about this episode already, but per the TNT synopsis, the most interesting thing about the case is that it’s almost a show-within-a-show, given that we are talking about a member of the force investigating a case regarding a cop show that he helps to work on:

Lt. Mike Tao of Major Crimes finds himself doing double duty when the star of the cop show on which he moonlights as a consultant becomes the prime suspect in the murder of his biggest fan.”

We anticipate this being a really fun case, and we can already see some of where the story could go. Big fans can at times be obsessive, and it is definitely possible that this “fan” found out all sorts of information about this TV star that they really should have stayed away from. This makes them a target, and we’ll just have to see what happens from there.

What we can mostly say for now is that this will be a nice change of pace, and also a solid follow-up given that we just had the episode featuring Jon Tenney, which could someday turn into a show of its own.
