‘Longmire’ season 3, episode 9 preview: Walt’s discovery; Branch’s reign of terror

Next week, “Longmire” is really going to start to get interesting. We felt like the episode tonight was caught between a rock and a hard place, at least in that it was following up something really excellent, and it served a purpose mostly to build to what is coming up.

Now that Walt knows the 100% truth about Branch’s actions and Vic realized that the best thing for her to do was not shy away from her past, we’ve reached a crazy, but wonderful place on the show. It now feels like almost anything can truly happen with Branch on the loose, and with everyone figuring out the right course of action to take him down. This is complicated even further by Walt also making some progression in some other cases, and he could therefore be a little distracted.

After this one is over, there will only be a single hour left before the show comes to a close for the year. That’s not a lot of time in the event that Walt does figure out who murdered his wife, and that makes us very worried that either this story will not be completely resolved this year, or that it will be rushed. We’ve already debated this topic as extensively as possible; now, we’ll just have to wait and see what happens.
