‘Sherlock’ season 4: Now, you can see Benedict Cumberbatch in wax

Sherlock season 3Just in case seeing Benedict Cumberbatch as Sherlock Holmes or a variety of other characters was not enough for you, we now have some other good news: You will be able to soon see him and his incredible cheekbones in wax form.

The “Sherlock” actor has, per reports, been measured to be a wax figure at the famous Madame Tussauds, and this will be available for public viewing at some point this coming fall. Cumberbatch said in a statement that this was truly an unusual experience getting measured for a figure, but it was something that he was definitely fascinated by:

“What a weird and wonderful compliment to be included in the ranks of talent already committed to wax. I’ve been accused of being wooden in my work but never waxy. The main privilege for me was the process and seeing the amount of exacting work and skill brought to every detail of this art form. It is a wonderful combination of old and new, high-tech and lo-fi skills. Measurements, hand inserted individual hairs and sculpted features.

“It’s an extraordinary experience. Also my agents will be thrilled, they’ve wanted a clone of me for some time.”

The timing for this figure hitting Tussauds is also smart in that it will keep Cumberbatch in the news for a little while. He does have a roster of feature films constantly on the pipe, but the earliest that we are going to see more of his BBC show is at some point during the 2015 holiday season. There will be more after that, but not until early 2016 in Britain.
