‘America’s Got Talent’ preview: See Dustin’s Dojo, more acts in Judgment Week
After a lengthy audition process and a very strange / extended hiatus in the middle of the season, Tuesday night will feature the return of “America’s Got Talent” to TV with judgment week. This is where many contenders will have to prove themselves as worthy of advancing onward to the next round, and we can say already that this is not going to be easy based on the extended preview below.
The first thing that we’ll say here is that there is clearly a difference between the American version and the British version of the show when it comes to the Golden Buzzer acts. In Britain, getting a buzzer is an automatic ticket to the live shows. Given that Dustin’s Dojo is performing again here, that is clearly not the case. (We reference them specifically because they’re probably our favorite of the season in terms of pure entertainment, and we can barely remember the names of some of the others.)
There are still acts that will advance straight through to the next round, as well as some drama. The promo teases that some acts will storm off, there will be huge mistakes that bring people to tears, and at one point things are going to get so bad that a medic is going to be killed. Granted, we don’t know why NBC felt the need to show us some blood on the ground in order to prove the point.
In the end, this looks like it is going to be a very entertaining could of shows ahead here as we get close to figuring out who are the real contenders to win. While we apparently stink with names this year, it does feel like a slightly better crop than what we had most of the past couple of seasons.
