‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: More ‘Frozen’ scoop on Olaf, Elsa, more
While you sometimes have to wait for answers on almost everything related to “Once Upon a Time,” you really don’t in this case.
Showrunners Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis just did a lengthy Q&A with Entertainment Weekly going all over many issues related to the upcoming “Frozen”-inspired arc, and there are three elements of it that we found particularly revealing, even surprisingly so given that the show is still months from returning on September 28.
- There will be no Olaf on the show. This is probably the right thing to do, especially when you consider that it would be very hard for the character to work properly on the series.
- Elsa’s story is not going to be all about her finding her one true love; instead, it will touch more on the themes of family we saw both in the original series, and also the show. Horowitz and Kitsis are not out to change the character much, but fit her into this world.
- This story is once again meant as an isolated arc, much like we saw with Neverland or with the Wicked Witch. We are not likely to see any of these characters be a part of season 5, and may not even be there for the second half of this year. This to us is the only part that is a bummer, mostly because it feels harder to move the regulars towards an actual endgame when they keep dealing with these isolated arcs.
What do you think: Are you cool with no Olaf, and the knowledge that these characters will not stick around forever? Share below, and also head over here for some of our earlier reports about the movie crossing into the world of the show.
