‘Grey’s Anatomy’ season 11 spoilers: What’s next for Callie and Arizona?
Can’t Calzona ever have a win on “Grey’s Anatomy“? It seemed like they did for most of season 8 before that plane crash came along and altered everything, and now the two are continually reeling from their myriad of problems. This includes cheating, poor communication, and a variety of other things that these two desperately need to figure out if they want to be together in the end.
As creator / executive producer Shonda Rhimes tells TV Guide, there are going to be so many more problems ahead for the two of them that steam this season from them trying to put a band-aid on some of their problems and going to a surrogate to have another child:
“The concept of the surrogate reveals more problems than it solves … They pretended a lot of things were OK when they weren’t OK and it’s time to face those problems. They’ll either work them out or not and figure out what they want to be next.”
While Rhimes has given us her fair share of heartbreaking situations over the years (Cristina and Owen never being able to figure it out is one of them), these two are a couple who we feel will somehow manage to work it out and be together in the end. They have so much going for them, and if Callie can get over the cheating as much as she has now, they may be able to move forward so long as it doesn’t happen again.
Obviously, though, there is still a chance for there to be many more problems, and we have to be aware and prepared for that. This is “Grey’s Anatomy,” not a show where everyone gets to sing romantic songs to each other and never has a problem in the world.
For the most part, season 11 will be about Meredith given what Rhimes said recently. The Calzona story will largely just come as a side dish to that. If you want to get a dosage of TV news sent to you every week, be sure to sign up for our newsletter today.
