‘Reign’ season 2 spoilers: ‘Spartacus’ alum on board for big role

Reign Logo -As we get closer to “Reign” season 2 premiering on October 2, this is the time when some of the big casting news related to the show will start to become available … including a little bit of what we have today.

According to a new report from TVLine, former “Spartacus: War of the Damned” star Craig Parker has signed on to play the recurring part of Narcisse on the show. He is described as a “brilliant” but also a “sexual” man, who controls the French Court heavily and also turns out to be extremely devoted to the Catholic Church. He certainly sounds like a pretty complicated man, no?

Well, one thing that you are definitely going to learn about this man over time is that while he is extremely strong and confident, there are some weaknesses that will also make themselves rather clear over time. One of them just so happens to be the fact that Catherine de Medici will turn out to be a major rival for him.

“Reign” season 2 is really just getting started, and production is going to be strong strong throughout the rest of the year for the most part. This show developed a cult following on The CW in its first season, and the luxury of getting Parker on board now is that you are effectively getting someone else who knows a thing or two already about devoted followings. This is one of the main reasons that “Spartacus” stayed on the air as long as it did.
