‘Reign’ season 2 spoilers: Take a look at what lies ahead!

Anxious for more of The CW’s “Reign“? We know that the wait until Thursday, October 2 is still a tiresome one, but the network was at least kind enough to dish out some more details now.

Before we do or say anything else, why not take a look at that? This is a pretty extended synopsis below, which is pretty surprising given that the writers are still working on the early part of the season:

“The second season begins with Mary and Francis on the throne of a nation burning. France is rocked by the aftereffects of the plague — a disease that creeps inside the castle walls, taking thousands upon thousands of lives across the land, and ravages the stability of a nation. From the ashes, powerful lords will rise, carrying out personal, religious and political vendettas, taking lives, and tearing at Mary and Francis’s commitment to each other, and their people. Friendships will be tested, loved ones murdered and betrayed. Meanwhile, a mysterious and deadly threat snatches victims from village streets and castle corridors; leaving evidence of savagery that looks like the work of monsters; mythical creatures who are the subject of nightmares, but who walk among us, doing the Devil’s bidding.”

In other words, you will see more of the same for this show. There’s plenty of romance, plenty of drama, and also a little bit of history thrown in there. We like to think of this most of the time as “history made entertaining.” They don’t stay true to every little thing, but they really can’t. Instead, they just do the best job they can to find a perfect mix.
