‘The Flash’ spoilers: Robbie Amell from ‘The Tomorrow People’ jumps over

This almost feels like a match made in heaven. The moment that “The Tomorrow People” was canceled, we wondered how Robbie Amell was going to find his way to get into the “Arrow” / “The Flash” universe. Given his relation to Oliver Queen actor Stephen Amell, and the general affection for him by The CW brass, it made sense.

Now, the word is out that Robbie will be rushing over specifically to “The Flash,” and he could end up having a potentially-heroic role at some point in the future. According to Deadline, he has been cast in a recurring role for now as Ronnie Raymond. He is a maintenance worker at S.T.A.R. Labs who has a romantic relationship with Caitlin Snow, and also is one of the people involved in the particle accelerator accident that is at the very center of how Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) got some of his powers in the first place.

Now, a SPOILER ALERT for those unfamiliar with the comics. Raymond ends up joining forces with physicist Martin Stein to become Firestorm, a hero with nuclear capabilities. Given that this show seems to be welcoming superpowers (Snow eventually becomes Killer Frost in the comics), we wouldn’t be surprised if these eventually reared their head at some point.

It’s just interesting to us right now watching the ways that “Arrow” and “The Flash” are differentiating themselves when it comes to development. We remember back when “Arrow” was getting started, it seemed like many were nervous to include a whole lot of the DC Universe in there right away. With this show, we’re seeing quite the opposite.

Love the casting of Amell here as much as we do? Let us know in the comments.
