‘American Horror Story: Freak Show’ spoilers: Wes Bentley teams with Ryan Murphy again

American Horror Story -While the fate of his pilot “Open” with Ryan Murphy at HBO is still a little unclear, we know for sure now one other place you can see Wes Bentley on TV: “American Horror Story: Freak Show.”

Sources confirm that Bentley has signed on to appear on the FX series for its Halloween two-parter as Eddie, a man from the past of Kathy Bates’ still-unknown character. While much of his personality and purpose is still unknown for the time being, we can at least say one thing: He is definitely going to be around seeking a little revenge.

Bentley was first cast on “Open” many months ago along with a cast that included Jennifer Jason Leigh and Anna Torv. The show, which also came from “Dexter” alum Lauren Gussis in addition to Murphy, has been in limbo ever since the pilot. Ryan certainly does have a good relationship with the network, given that he did recently receive all sorts of critical acclaim for his adaptation of “The Normal Heart,” which is also very likely to scoop up all sorts of nominations at the Primetime Emmy Awards later this week.

“American Horror Story: Freak Show” starts filming this month, and centers on one of the last great freak shows in Jupiter, Florida operated by Jessica Lange’s character. Bates is presumably going to be one of the freaks, and we know for sure that Michael Chiklis is a strong man and Sarah Paulson is a woman with two heads. This certainly sets the stage for what could be a crazy season, which looks as though it is going to be a little bit darker than the recent “Coven” season.
