‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Elizabeth Mitchell signs on, after all!

Frozen -Remember all of those people requesting that Elizabeth Mitchell play Queen Else on “Once Upon a Time” season 4? It made some sense, given that Mitchell worked with Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis on “Lost,” and that she was free now with “Revolution” over.

While that role ended up going to “Fringe” alum Georgina Haig, the show has managed to find a way to include her after all. Entertainment Weekly reports that Mitchell has been cast in an unknown (but important) role in the fourth season that could ultimately end up being one of the primary villains. Not much is known yet about this role, but she should help to bridge the gap in some ways between Storybrooke and Arendelle, the world set up in “Frozen.”

It’s not a surprise that Mitchell’s casting was finally confirmed, thanks by and large to the massive following that she has, and the show’s own tradition of finding “Lost” alum new work. Some of the other “Lost” stars to appear on this show include Emilie de Ravin (who is now a regular), Jorge Garcia, Rebecca Mader, and Naveen Andrews over on the “Once Upon a Time in Wonderland” spin-off. While it feels unlikely that we would ever see Matthew Fox or Ian Somerhalder on this show, we wouldn’t be too shocked if either Josh Holloway, Maggie Grace, Evangeline Lilly, or Dominic Monaghan on the show someday. If Dominic shows up and performs as a magical member of Drive Shaft, we might just spontaneously combust with pure joy.

The new season of “Once Upon a Time” will premiere in September, and we’ll have some further updates on everything pertaining to it soon. For now, just click here if you want to grab some further updates, or here to sign up for more via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
