NBC’s ‘The Voice’ season 7: Adam Levine, Pharrell celebrate ‘Happy’ in new promo

The latest -

NBC really wants to remind you that “The Voice” is coming up again this fall, and that there are new coaches around with popular music.

Remember that promo that the show made featuring Gwen Stefani and her hit “Hollaback Girl”? Well, this new promo features the other new coach in Pharrell and his hit song “Happy.” At least this song is a little more recent, and this promo is a ton of fun. How can you be bummed out after watching this? We are well aware of the fact that “Happy” became a little too overplayed on the radio in the end, but we enjoyed it for the most part during its process at the summit.

One other thing we should point out here is that this promo really makes a concentrated effort to show you that the coaches all have good chemistry, but it remains to be seen whether or not that is true, or if we are looking a little bit more at a fool’s gold sort of situation where you are disappointed in the end by what you see. The coaches getting along is so important to this show’s success, and there were times (season 5, the one with Adam and Christina Aguilera feuding) where it just became far less interesting to watch. Given that Gwen and Pharrell are newcomers, there is a big risk that comes with that. Luckily, the two know each other very well, and Adam in particular seems to know everybody in the music business. Blake’s relationship with them is a little more unclear since he is more in the country circles … but he is at least reasonably popular everywhere.
