‘Mistresses’ season 2, episode 5 preview: Karen’s night out

There have been many vague sneak peeks in the past for episodes of “Mistresses,” and then there is the one that we have below. This may be one of the most uneventful previews of all time, unless you are watching for the sheer stylistic joy of watching Karen (Yunjim Kim) prepare for her big night out on the town.

This video features makeup, Karen putting on her outfit, and then her walking into the environment of the party. Just when the story is going to start to pick up and go into high gear, things come to a quick stop. This has to be intentional; after all, why else cut the preview off at the place in which it does?

The one thing that we definitely like about this sneak peek is that it is the show not really drifting from its signature style at all. To us, “Mistresses” is really all about three things: The drama, the characters, and the style. This video gets you the perfect impression that there is going to be so much more happening here than we are seeing, and it could be a major transformation in the character’s story.

More than anything else, we just want the show to really get its momentum going. It has been a somewhat sluggish start for “Mistresses” season 2, and it was only in the past two weeks that some of the stories from the first season have been addressed again. Fingers crossed that this continues moving ahead.
