‘Switched at Birth’ season 3 spoilers: A more ‘mature’ Bay, Emmett romance coming

It has been a hard road for Bay and Emmett on “Switched at Birth,” and there were already some tough decisions that have been made when it comes to her and Tank.

For the time being, though, it feels like the two have moves past their problems and in a positive relationship. This is a second chance to be together, and it feels like the two know that they need to take it a little bit more seriously this time around.

Show executive producer Lizzy Weiss tells TVLine that there is going to be a more “mature” relationship for these two characters as we dive deeper into the third season, even if there is some uncertainty ahead:

“We had great fun with Bay and Emmett [this season] … [We dive] into second-semester-senior-high-school love and what that [feels] like and when you’re anticipating leaving each other at the end of the year. I think the Bay/Emmett fans will be excited.”

There are probably two different emotions running through the characters’ collective heads right now. On one side of the coin, we imagine Bay and Emmett being somewhat sad and curious about what will happen to them when they are no longer going to be able to be around each other all of the time.

However, this negative could simultaneously be a positive for the two of them. Thanks to the future being what it is, they may be more compelled to make the most of every second they have now.
