‘NCIS’ season 12: A small schedule update from Rocky Carroll
Finding updates on “NCIS” right now is something that is not exactly easy for a number of reasons … with the biggest one being just that the actors are not on the set right now. Filming for the series does not begin for a little while, but in case you are wondering about some specifics, we have them for you now.
Rocky Carroll (Leon Vance) recently gave an interview with New England Golf Monthly that covered a variety of great subjects, whether it be the sport or his time working with Mark Harmon. Also, he explained a little of what the general schedule is for a common season:
“We begin shooting the end of July and wrap up our 24th episode the end of April. It takes eight business days to film one episode. Our normal day runs from 12-14 hours, but it really doesn’t feel like work to me because I truly love what I do. I’m sure you could line up people from one end of the country to the other who would also like to be in my position, working 14 hours a day to make a TV show.”
This is the sort of attitude that is always nice to hear. Are there times when we feel for some of the actors who have this schedule? Sure, but if you stick around for a decade or so and handle the rigors of series television, you can be set financially for the rest of your life if you handle the money right. After this, you can take more roles that allow for a little bit more flexibility.
Update: We are hearing that filming is starting earlier than Carroll suggested, which is around July 7. He may have been speaking in general terms about past seasons; it’s hard to tell without context. Or, he may be talking more about filming versus doing table-reads. Either way, we’ll have more updates soon.

NCIS has no buzz because no one cares about this show with the new girl that can’t act and Gibbs who grunts more and more each year as he walks thru the bull pen. I am finished with this show without Cote dePablo and some REAL acting with Michael Weatherly.

He’s great in the role of director. I was concerned when they killed off Jenny but Vance is a cool, complex character.

Seriously, maybe Cote worked 14 hours on a day and during all the week but Rocky, with his character, I think he works maximum 2-3 days and during 2 hours. !
