‘The Newsroom’ season 3: What recurring character from season 2 may return?
With there only being just a handful of episodes left on “The Newsroom” before the series as a whole comes to a close, you’re not going to have that many opportunities to hear about people who may or may not be appearing, or just what the story is going to be.
With that in mind, we’re going to open up a question to you courtesy of information that you may have missed earlier in the month: Is Marcia Gay Harden returning for more episodes? She posted a photo on her Twitter account recently showing herself at the set, which may be a pretty nice indicator that Rebecca Halliday is coming back for more.
The last time that you saw Halliday on the series, she was doing her best to help Will McAvoy and all of ACN diffuse the disaster otherwise known as Operation Genoa, and while the company may have gotten out of the woods from that by the time that season 3 starts back, there are no guarantees that they will have avoided future trouble. Ultimately, Halliday is the sort of person that you need around.
Harden appearing on set is not a guarantee that she is appearing (she could just be visiting friends), but it is a welcome sign nonetheless. She recently wrapped her run on the gone-before-its-time series “Trophy Wife,” and this is a nice way to jump back into TV with something else of a high quality.
There is no firm premiere date yet for “The Newsroom” season 3, but if we had to guess, we would assume that we’d see a little more of the series come the end of the fall. It is not going to take that long for it to fill out its run, but you certainly want to do it in style.
