‘Big Brother 16’ spoilers: Two-night premiere, plus more live feed coverage

Big Brother -CBS is going all our like never before to turn “Big Brother 16” into an event, whether that means giving you more reasons to watch, or reasons to interact online.

The first thing that is interesting is the report coming out today that on January 25, the show’s premiere is going to be a two-night event. One of the last notable times that we saw them just so happened to be “All-Stars” in season 7, where you met some of the players the first day and then voted, and then the following show contained some of the results. This certainly could bring some credence to the rumors that either there is another All-Star season upon us, or one that features a combination of new players and veterans.

For those looking for new rumors, though, it remains the same online with there being talk about “Blood vs. Water,” about one that is similar to “Fans vs. Favorites” on “Survivor,” or just a cast all full of returning players. Personally, we’d prefer a season with just a few returnees if you are going to bring people back, mostly so that you could find a few more great first-time players that could be involved in an All-Stars next summer.

As for the other news announced, there will be a “Big Brother Live Kickoff” special hosted by Jeff Schroeder on June 25 at 7:00 p.m. Eastern, just to get you that much more pumped about the premiere of the new season. Jeff is also for some reason going to be live-tweeting the first 16 hours of live feeds following the end of the June 26 show, which seems weird to us given that the houseguests should be sleeping for some of that. Also, we also wonder why they are hiring Jeff to do the live-tweeting and not someone who has been a huge live-feeder for most of the show’s run. It just seems like it’d be a little bit of a better fit. (Personally, we’d hire Rachel just to see how excited she would be to do it.)

We’ll have further “Big Brother” news and updates for the next few weeks leading up to the show, so stay on the lookout for that. Also, sign up now to get more TV scoop via our official newsletter.
