2014 Miss USA: Talking Erin Brady, Thomas Roberts, and more before tonight’s show

Tonight, the Miss USA Pageant is going to return to NBC, which of course will mean a few things: Glitz, glamour, and people making snide remarks on Twitter about what is going on. There are few other events out there who bring out the trolls quite like this one does.

So what will the show this year bring to the table? The first thing is something that we have seen every single year from the very beginning: Gowns, swimsuits, and the potential for a few contestants to say ridiculous things. You will also once again see the reigning Miss USA hand off her crown, and this time around it is Erin Brady who will be doing the honors.

There is a change now when it comes to hosts, as Thomas Roberts (“Today”) is filling the spot of Andy Cohen. He will be working with Giuliana Rancic, who has co-hosted the show for many years now. The lineup of judges is certainly strange this year, given that you have everyone from Randy Couture to Rumer Willis to even “Sharknado” star Ian Ziering, who may be looking to scout talent for the next film at the pageant. The host city this year is Baton Rouge, which is going to give it a little bit more of a Louisiana flavor than it has had in the past. Does this mean there will be a winner from the south? Hardly, given that we really have not seen that big of a correlation between host city and winners over the years.
