‘Game of Thrones’ season 4, episode 9 spoilers: Kit Harrington on Battle at the Wall

Jon Snow -To say that Sunday night’s “Game of Thrones” episode “The Watchers at the Wall” is going to be “epic” would be making one of the biggest understatements out there. This episode may very well feel like a feature film when it comes to budget, action, and everything else that is being thrown into it. There are giants, there are armies, and there was also the challenge of creating this entire fight scene around a place that does not fully exist at a set somewhere in the Wall.

You can see some more about this episode from a production point of view here, but we’ve also got a new take from Kit Harrington himself about what it was like to be a part of this. Speaking to “Access Hollywood,” he certainly makes it sound like this could be the episode that makes you thoroughly involved in Jon’s storyline, even if you have not been an enormous fan of the character:

“I think it’s as big as ‘Thrones’ has gone at the moment. I mean, I think it’s no secret that it’s the most expensive episode that they’ve ever made and a lot of that is due to the CGI. I haven’t seen any of that yet, obviously, so that’s going to be a new thing for me, but yeah, it’s pretty huge in scale. I think it’s as big as TV goes, and that was incredible to be one of the leading actors in that episode. I feel hugely privileged.”

This battle will feature the return of Ygritte, some other characters that you have come to know at the Wall, and probably some big deaths, as well. We want to think that Jon Snow is safe, but having not read the books and seeing who has been killed so far, we can never be so sure of anything. (Then again, if Jon dies what have we been spending these past few years doing?)

We’ll have a photo preview of this episode a little later, so be sure to come back for more news on that! Also, sign up to grab further updates on all we cover via our CarterMatt Newsletter.
