‘Mistresses’ season 2 spoilers: The comeback of Savi and the baby storyline

Is “Mistresses” going to completely gloss over the Savi pregnancy story throughout the rest of season 2? There was a sound that many fans probably made while watching the season 1 premiere, and it was probably something like “whaaaa?” at the way in which the show pushed beyond most of the events from the first season.

What we would tell you now is that you should not necessarily expect this story to go away, or for the tone of the premiere (which we compared to a weaker “Sex and the City” storyline in our premiere review) to last forever. Speaking to TV Guide, executive producer Rina Mimoun promises that this story will indeed be back:

“It [affects] the choices that she’s making this year … We do get to the point where we see what Savi has been pushing down in regards to the loss of the baby. … So, it doesn’t feel like you just missed it entirely.”  

With this in mind, just remember that patience was a virtue. While we still feel like we would have been a little more interested in the season had they chosen to start things off in a slightly different way when it comes to the stories from last year, we’ll try to put our faith in them for a little while longer. After all, there are not many other shows that can offer you what “Mistresses” can during the summer, unless you want to watch a reality show that makes you feel sad about some of the people involved. At least here you can get the bigger-than-life stories alongside reminders that at the end of the day, these people are not actually real.
