‘Hell on Wheels’ season 4: First photo of Cullen Bohannon (Anson Mount) released

Any Anson Mount fans out there? Then you’ll be happy to see that AMC is at least serving up something to all of you “Hell on Wheels” fans out there: The first photo of Cullen Bohannon from the show’s upcoming fourth season.

If you are looking for something that is some sort of extreme spoilers, then odds are you’ll be disappointed by this. It is hardly revealing at all to see Cullen leaning against a chair with a shoe on the wall, but this clearly does sum up his present emotional state: Boredom. He’s not where he wants to be, and a prisoner to a new society. This is not a slam against his wife and child, but rather him decrying the situation that he is in with them. The Swede is out there hovering over him, and he’s separated from the railroad.

Eventually, we have to hope that there is something that changes his situation slightly, given that “Hell on Wheels” would be slightly less fun without Bohannon doing some of what he does best. It was fascinating, however, to see the show leave this character in such a different and interesting place than what he is accustomed to. Next to whatever in the world is happening with Common on this show, this is the biggest cliffhanger that is out there.

The fourth season will be filming still for many months in Calgary, and the premiere date is Saturday, August 2. We’ll have much more news before then, so stay tuned.
