‘Beauty and the Beast’ season 2 spoilers: Kristin Kreuk on new foundation
At the end of Monday night’s “Beauty and the Beast” episode, the producers managed to surprise us yet again with a surprise. This time around, though, it was the big reveal that it was Cat who had been captured, and someone among the rest of the characters is going to have to figure out how to rescue her.
What is more important than even this individual story may just be how things carry over from here to the rest of the season and even beyond. This is something that Kristin Kreuk touched on in a chat with TV Guide, where she explained some of how this story really lays the groundwork for the future:
“We find out who the guys that have taken her are early in the episode, but they’re not who they seem … The episode [sets] the groundwork for what the show will be more like in Season 3.”
We’ve already started up our campaign to have the show air all of its third season int he summer, at least based somewhat on how some of the ratings for the show there. It has some of the best numbers that it has in the past year, and maybe getting away from all the competition and stress that comes with airing during the season is going to prove to be extremely valuable for this show in the end. We’ll just have to see now how the story goes the rest of this season.

“What do you want to see from this Cat story?” I want to see more of the main character, the most interesting actor, the most complex role: Jay Ryan, playing Vincent. He is hardly even mentioned in your article and yet he is the one that carries the show with his intelligence, his subtle acting and Vincent’s deep inner conflicts.
