‘Hart of Dixie’ season 4 spoilers: Decisions on a Rachel Bilson story

You may have heard news already about “Hart of Dixie” season 4 having a shortened season, and you may have heard some of the talk already about how it may be 10 episodes, with the production date pushed up, in order to accommodate Rachel Bilson’s pregnancy.

While there is seemingly enough evidence about all of this for it to be true, The CW is still not commenting on it for the time being. Rather, the one thing that has been further verified (per TVLine) is that Bilson will appear in however many episodes the show decides to make for this upcoming season. So pending some last-minute change or emergency, this is not going to be like season 3 where Jaime King missed a little bit of time after she gave birth to her son.

One other interesting development? There has already been a decision from the writers about whether or not Bilson’s pregnancy will be written into the story … but they are keeping mum on that for the time being. Sometimes we get a pretty strong read one way or another, but it is hard to really do that this time courtesy of where the show is in its run. If “Hart of Dixie” season 4 is meant to be the last, or at least the second to last, then we wouldn’t be surprised if Zoe Hart ends up getting pregnant. That definitely does mix up the story. The only problem with all of this? It’d be hard to make her pregnant right away on the show, given that it’s been a while since her relationship with Joel ended, and her and Wade are not back together as of yet (though we still have hope).
