Mrs. Carter: Is the future of “Hart of Dixie” starting to become a little bit clearer?
For many around the internet, they are still trying to grasp hold onto the fact that star Rachel Bilson is pregnant, and for the second time in two years, the show has to figure out some sort of plan in order to accommodate an actress. Last year, they were able to write around Jaime King by leaving Lemon Breeland out of a few episodes, but can you really do that when someone like Bilson’s Zoe Hart is the star of the show?
Recently, we wrote about how it could be possible for the show to go on and keep moving forward without Bilson on board for a few episodes similar to King, but it doesn’t look like the show is going in that direction. According to an Us Weekly magazine article uncovered by SpoilerTV, the show’s season 4 order may be cut down to 10 episodes. Not only that, but the production could be shifted forward in order to ensure that all of the episodes are filmed before Rachel is ready to give birth.
Obviously, the difference between this and the King situation is that this entire show is really about Zoe, and that same sort of statement cannot be said about Lemon. It’s harder to have a show without her. Also, it was pretty likely in the first place that The CW was going to give the series a full 22 episodes this season after it was left off of the fall schedule. Therefore, this is probably not that big of an alteration.
