‘Once Upon a Time’ season 4 spoilers: Show boss on early Elsa, ‘Frozen’ ideas
Even though we are now weeks removed from the “Once Upon a Time” finale, that has not stopped by any means the flurry of people talking about the big shocker at the end of the episode: The reveal that Elsa is now in Storybrooke, and the sort of trouble that could come from that. (We imagine it personally to be pretty insane.)
But is this Elsa really going to be the woman that we came to know in “Frozen,” or an adaptation derived more from “The Snow Queen”? While executive producers Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis are never ones to tip their cap completely, they did tell Entertainment Weekly Radio that you can expect more of the movie side of the character when the show does pick back up later this year:
“For us, I think this is Elsa from Frozen. That was kind of the inspiration… Will there be our own elements put to it? Yes. Like all things like we do with Snow White or Peter Pan or Captain Hook, we take our own kind of twist on it but remaining faithful to the actual essence of the character.”
The producers have already said that we may see other faces from the “Frozen” universe in here at some point, and we will just continue to stress what we have already said: We are completely shocked that the show is able to use so much of a successful film franchise from Disney so soon after it hit theaters. They are usually insanely protective of such things.
