‘The Flash’ spoilers: ‘Arrow’s’ Stephen Amell talks cameo in pilot
If you saw the trailer for “The Flash” already, then you know that none other than Oliver Queen will be making a surprise appearance during the pilot, as he helps Barry to become used to what is going to become a shocking, dangerous next phase of his life.
Want some more information on it now? Well, Stephen Amell was kind enough to hand over some of the details! Speaking to TV Guide, he explained both how easy it was for him to agree to appear, and also the context in which he shows up within Starling City:
“In the Flash pilot, Barry comes to me … [It’s a] little snippet in the Flash pilot where he and I share a scene together, it’s in his pilot, but [filming] it felt like our show because he’s coming to Starling City. That, to me, was one of the most rewarding things that I did as an actor because it was essentially the same crew that we used for our pilot, and it was two years later and it was the same director. It was like going back in time. [Flash and Arrow director] David Nutter asked me to be a part of the pilot and I will never say no to David Nutter.”
We have a hard time thinking that this will be the only time that we see these two characters together in the 22-23 episodes coming up. With that being said, we hope that there is enough time taken between shows so that “The Flash” can find a little bit of its own identity.
