‘The Flash’ trailer: Get an extended look now (with a surprise cameo)
Yesterday, the first teaser for “The Flash” premiered during the season finale of “Arrow,” but we have now had an opportunity to check out the full trailer for the show … and it is so long that it may as well be the full pilot.
We cannot believe The CW gave us so much of the show in one sitting, but we still have to say that it mostly does a good job. Are there some cheesy lines? Sure, and that flashback at the start with the lines from the kids is trying WAY too hard to bring this entire ordeal full-circle when it doesn’t need to. But we have to say that for a show that is airing on a small broadcast network, what they have done here with the budget is pretty impressive. Most of the effects look good, and they have established the origin story of Barry Allen’s alter ego well.
There are two other things in here that certainly surprised us after being a diehard “Arrow” viewer the past two years:
- The Oliver Queen cameo in the trailer, mostly because we have no idea when Stephen Amell even found the time to appear in between sleeping and working on 23 episodes of his own show. This will be interesting to see if this scene is meant to take place at the same time as the “Arrow” premiere, and if so, what we are meant to take from these two having a conversation. Could this mean that there could also be a Felicty cameo to tie together that story further?
- The fact that Cisco and Caitlin, who you met already on “Arrow,” seem to be in the know already in regards to Barry’s powers.
