‘Sherlock’ season 4 spoilers: Hopes continue for 2015 release

Sherlock season 3At the moment, the future of “Sherlock” seems to be floating around out there somewhere on a cloud of hopes and dreams, without anyone really knowing more than anyone else just when the show will actually be coming back on the air.

But for now, the newest hopes for the season seem to be tying it to a potential filming and release date next year. Per the Radio Times, it is looking more and more realistic that season 4 will be filmed at some point in 2015, and could air a little later in the year. The bad news is that we are still talking about a premiere date that is over a year away. As for the good news, there is still some hope that the show will be able to come on the air in a shorter window of time than what we saw between seasons 2 and 3. With this show, you have to take whatever little victories that you can.

The reality here is that any new season of “Sherlock” is something that you have to be grateful for, thanks mostly to how busy its starts in Martin Freeman and Benedict Cumberbatch are with movies and TV projects. Steven Moffat also has another job on “Doctor Who,” so getting this show to work out relies heavily on everything lining up. The first step towards the show getting another run will be an official renewal from the BBC, which in turn will allow more information to creep in about when the show will come back on the air.
