‘The Amazing Race 24’ final four preview: Ranking the racers!
Are you surprised that we are near the end of “The Amazing Race” this season? It only seems like a matter of weeks ago that these all-stars first stepped out onto the mat and Mark got a new partner in Mallory. Now, we’re at the final four, and it may not be the one that many predicted going into this. We didn’t have either Caroline & Jennifer as a candidate at this point, and we felt like Dave & Connor wouldn’t be as dominant. (However, we did pick Brendon & Rachel to win before the season.)
So where do we think these racers stack up now? Let’s try to figure that out by ranking them in order from least-likely to most-likely to take home the title of winners.
4. Caroline & Jennifer – Given that they’ve been nearly eliminated twice, you have to put them in the back of the pack … though we have been seriously feeling a Josh & Brent edit off of them lately. Crazier things have happened beyond them winning.
3. Leo & Jamal – It’s still to be seen just how much Jamal’s injury impacts the two and their ability to actually run this race as quickly as they would like. That and their occasional recklessness when it comes to tasks are the two reasons why we are somewhat concerned about their chances for the time being.
2. Brendon & Rachel – No longer do they have to worried about being U-Turned, and while there may be an attempt Sunday night to keep them out of the finale, come that last episode nobody’s going to be helping anyone else. It’s mostly about skill now, and save for being combustible, they are a very good team.
1. Dave & Connor – Despite Dave’s frequent complaining about him being a 60-year old man and this not being a race built for him, he is a half of the season’s most-dominant team remaining. Save for someone else getting lucky on a flight / taxi or them simply losing in a footrace, it’s hard to really fashion a reason why they would not win the season given their skill in challenges and their solid relationship.
