‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3, episode 22 (finale) spoilers: Rachel Bilson, Wilson Bethel, and choices
The end is just about here on “Hart of Dixie” season 3, and that means now one thing: Finding out whether or not Zoe can convince Wade to actually stick around in BlueBell.
As we saw in the new episode that aired on The tonight, Rachel Bilson’s character was really struggling in many ways. She found out that Wade may be franchising the Rammer Jammer, and this could lead to him moving to Atlanta and starting up a new location of the establishment there. Now, she has to figure out whether or not she can convince him to stay … and he may need a very good reason. It’s not confirmed that this episode will be particularly romantic (update: the promo seems to suggest that it will be), but given that the show only recently realized that they will be having a fourth season, it must be at least something they are willing to consider.
The finale is entitled “Second Chance,” and if you look below, you can see some of the first details when it comes to what to expect:
“Zoe (Rachel Bilson) tries to be a supportive friend to Wade (Wilson Bethel), but when she makes a grand gesture, Wade is forced to make a tough decision about his future with the Rammer Jammer and BlueBell. Lavon (Cress Williams) and George (Scott Porter) meet their hero Don Todd (guest star Reggie Hayes, “Girlfriends”), who helps them see things in their life more clearly. Grandma Bettie (guest star Maree Cheatham) tries to convince Lemon (Jaime King) that she has to take her search for a suitable husband more seriously. Meanwhile, AnnaBeth (Kaitlyn Black) is trying to picture her future with Davis (guest star Barry Watson).”
For those of you who are looking for other stories in here not about Zoe or Wade, it certainly looks like you will have a lot to look forward to, as well … especially if you are a fan of AnnaBeth.

The show is about the main characters and I have not watched this season like I had in the past. Once they brought in Joel, I lost interest. I did like the fact that Zoe and Lemon have become friends. If Lemon and George got back together, that would be fine. They do have a love/hate relationship with is very entertaining. I would like to see AB and her new boyfriend continue. Engaged, is a little fast. She deserves to be happy! Hopefully it will be a better season!

I think her “I love you” is the reading at the wedding. They wouldn’t have shown it in a promo if it were for real. I do want “Zade” though. They are the best couple ever and what makes the show, but nothing comes easy for them and a reunion is not going to either.

I regrettably agree and think the “I love you” is a tease too….hopefully something significant will “give” in that relationship though in the finale.

I agree with Beth that the core characters need to be focused on in the new seASON. Zoe and Wade are WAY overdue in getting back together…these two “FIT” together and their love story is what keeps us tuning in.

I agree that this was a tough season for Hart of Dixie, but things have vastly improved with Joel, Vivian and some of the other distracting characters out of the way. HOD has pulled it together the last few weeks and gotten back to their bread and butter–Zoey & Wade. My hope for the finale is that Zoey’s “I love you” is not some kind of tease without substance, as it’s high time that these two characters got on with their relationship. Let the viewers see their relationship progress together! My hope for the 4th season is to see both these characters and their relationship develop in a way that is satisfying and fun—rather than what viewers have had to put up with this entire season which has been full of sideways energy, shallow relationships, and unbelievable/unlikable characters. I hope that the writers and producers will honor the main characters enough to give them wings….a chance to develop in a fuller way WHILE maintaining the light humor and sweet southern charm. I hope they realize that it doesn’t have to be one or the other, that it can be BOTH. This season I feel like they’ve erred too far on the side of too many corney subplots and novel characters. I was delighted to see CW give this show a 4th season and hope the writers and producers will listen to viewers and get this show back on track. It has a great premise, a super cast, and so much potential!

Has anyone else noticed how little Wade and Lavon have interacted this season? At the bar sure.. but they were all watching tv. in terms of conversation though: very little. They seem to have finally tracked down that Wilson and Jaimie have more of a spark in terms of chemistry of banter and not so much in the former group.

It was totally the writer’s fault that the season was horrible for the first 16 episodes….once they got rid of the Joel Show things immediately improved. Once the core characters (zoe and Wade) were the focus again…HOD came alive. Now there is hope for S4.
