‘The Big Bang Theory’ season 7 finale spoilers: Jim Parsons on Sheldon’s journey

Here it is -Did you want to see a major “Big Bang Theory” surprise occur during the season finale? Well, you’re going to get that as there is some significant character movement finally for someone in Sheldon who has really spent the vast majority of the season somewhat set in his ways.

So what could see change with this character? The biggest thing to really look for is the idea of Sheldon actually going out on his own, without any of his friends with him. He may have something to prove to himself, especially as he sees himself stuck in one gear while the lives of all those around him are improving. Jim Parsons recently spoke on this subject to TVLine, and he had a lot of interesting things to say:

“He gets the hell out of there and I have no idea where he’s going or what he’s planning … All the [personal and professional] changes that are taking place finally start to come home to roost for him as problems. “It was very interesting to read it for the first time and then to play the final episode because it really gets at the crux of something that is perhaps his defining characteristic as a character on television — which is his resistance to change. If you look at it through that lens, so many of the things he does, the things he says, the places he sits, etc, have everything to do with the fact that this is the way it’s done, this is the right way to do it and this has served him fairly well as a human. They’ve got him in a situation now, the writers do, where it’s not possible to carry on without some of these changes.”

Parsons said that he will have no idea at all what the writers are planning for Sheldon until the show returns with its eighth season a little later in the year. The process for that will not begin until the late summer.
