ABC’s ‘Resurrection’ season 2 spoilers: One of the current plans
Is it possible that we could see a very different “Resurrection” for the show’s second season? We would definitely understand if a legion of people were to think so. The finale brought in the U.S. Army to Arcadia, and with the attempt by Agent Bellamy to leave the area with Jacob, it felt like we were about see a series of elaborate chase scenes.
However, the closing minutes suggested with Bellamy’s casting that in the end, the show is going to keep its small, singular focus … and it will remain that way moving into season 2. Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, co-showrunner Michele Fazekas made it clear that she had no desire to see the series move away at all from its Missouri home for the time being:
“I feel like we never want to get bigger than the show is. The desire will always be to keep within Arcadia. As much as we are talking about big ideas and sort of monumental things that are happening. At the end of the day, the show is about the people that are in it. The show is about the Langston family, the show is about Jacob, the show is about Bellamy. And we never forget that. As much as it’s about big things, it’s also about these small quiet moments.”
This does help to ease some of our fears and concerns after watching the finale, but not all of them. For example, isn’t much of the outside world still going to find out about this? We haven’t seen yet any sort of global impact to the returned, and you cannot imagine that everyone on the show is going to just stay confidential.
While we do worry about what can happen to a show after it starts to really run though most of its preliminary steam and energy, we’ll still check out season 2 whenever it does premiere.
