‘New Girl’ season 4 spoilers: Where we want to see Nick, Jess, go from here

Tonight, “New Girl” season 3 came to a close with a mostly uneventful episode entitled “Cruise,” where the only big shocker was that Nick and Jess moving forward are not going to be living together.

How does this change the show? Mostly, it is an open door for some drama to come up in unexpected places. For example, we’re going to see how these two characters function as single people again … and hopefully they can. It also allows Nick to get back to being the Nick that we initially loved, since he changed much more than Jess in the relationship that the two had most of the season.

As for a few other things we’d like to see…

1. Growth from Coach – What typically happens with this guy is that he gets in a relationship, and this disappears off into a void somewhere. Wouldn’t it be nice if that was not going to happen for a change? That’s why we are pulling for him to be with someone.

2. No love interest for Nick – Instead, we want to see him get involved in something else. Find a hobby, or new friends!

3. A serious relationship for Schmidt – Rather than Cece, have him be with someone like Elizabeth again who really brings out the best of him.

4. Winston gets to show how awesome he is – This character has improved over season 3, and now we want to see more of what life as a cop could be for him.
