‘Supernatural’ season 9 spoilers: Producer on Misha Collins’ season 10 future
While “Supernatural” has already been renewed for a tenth season, there are still questions that remain … and the future of Misha Collins is pretty high up on the list. We’ve seen him as a regular on the show a number of occasions, but his status has flip-flopped often between that and “recurring.” Season 9 was the first time in years that he was actually handed the “regular” promotion, and he has appeared in a good chunk of the episodes.
So where does that leave him for season 10? While the show’s producers are not saying anything definitely just yet, it does look like there is at least an interest in having Castiel back. Speaking per E! News on this subject recently, supervising producer Andrew Rabb gives us a reason to have hope:
“He is part of the mythology as he has been in seasons past for us. He plays big in the last [few] episodes … As far as next season goes, look, we love Misha [Collins]. Misha’s awesome. I have a hard time imagining the show without him.”
We have a hard time imagining the show without him, either, and while we understand that it costs money to pay the cast this late in a series’ run, the ratings have been pretty solid in the move to Tuesday this year. Even if Misha will probably never appear in every episode (which is understandable, since there’s not always a place for the character), he does deserve that sort of job security given the time that he has put into the show and being a good ambassador with the fan community. Plus, his friendship with William Shatner has been very fun to watch unfold. Think about that!

If they kill off Cas (permanently), I’m GONE and I imagine nearly every Cas fan will be right behind me! I can’t believe they would even CONSIDER getting rid of Cas, considering how many fans he brings to the show and how much he keeps those ratings high! If they think the price is high to keep him (money wise), then they better take into consideration the price of getting rid of him: lost revenue from plummeting ratings and lack of advertiser interest (because of those plummeting ratings). I’ve watched since season one and am loving the episodes featuring Cas; his story line. As much as I like the brothers, the show needs something in ADDITION to them to remain interesting. I’m tired of endless brother angst and bickering and so forth. This show NEEDS Cas.

I’m sorry but this show does NOT need cas!
It needs Dean and Sam.
Everyone else is a guest star – recurring or otherwise. Of course Mr. Collins puts time into the show as do all the actors that appear in it – it’s their job and what they are paid for! What a ridiculous statement! He would put in equal time to any other show he appeared in as a recurring guest. He isn’t going to turn down the pay cheque.
If you don’t want to watch if the angel goes no is forcing you to.
The show did great before him and it will continue with or without him.
As for brotherly angst – well it may be boring to you but it is true to life. The arguments aren’t the same just the same people having them.
The addition the show needs is a new storyline altogether devoid of angels.
Let’s see a new Supernatural being there’s enough of them out there that haven’t been used before.

Im taking everything that Andrew Dabb says with a huge grain of rock salt as a Castiel fan ive had to put up with alot of the bs the writers producers and show runners of this show concerning Castiels char and Misha’s status on this show . I rember Sarah Gamble after firing Misha because she is an ESG who hated Cas stated she loved having Misha on the show . If that was true why didnt she recast him as the Leviathan leader i liked LeviCas Misha would have played that roll well. I hope to see Misha back in S10 playing Castiel my big wish is for him to become a hunter and gets to spend more time with Sam and Dean , S9 lacked TFW which took the spark out of this season for me , i enjoyed most of the Castiel episodes the human Cas story failed miserably due to lazy writing and lack of imaginatoin.
