‘Big Brother Canada 2’ review: An awards show and plenty of reminiscing
On Sunday night’s “Big Brother Canada,” we had an hour of television that was mostly predictable … yet we enjoyed most of it. Part of the reason why we still found ourselves smiling so much was the way in which the show does the “Sunday recap special” that you get on almost every season on the U.S. and Canada shows.
We like the whole integration of the Big Brother Canada Awards into the clips, since it makes the recap interactive, provides an excuse to dress people up, and this time around, there was even the inclusion of Gary into the mix as the party host! This was all such a good time to watch for the most part, since you get to see that moment of watching contestants actually see themselves on TV for the first time. That is such a weird experience, and it’s going to be especially crazy for them to go home and watch all of the episodes.
The winners tonight were Kenny & Sarah (Best BFF Moment), Jon & Allison (Best Dance), and Arlie (Best Fashion).
If the entire episode was that, it’d probably be better than the elongated Head of Household Competition so we could be reminded that Sabrina is in power again. Also, we didn’t need confessionals from her talking about her target when she has no power this week at all. It’s all about the Veto, so getting up Heather and Jon on the block means absolutely nothing.
Wednesday’s episode will feature the Veto and the eviction, which is the first thing that we will have not seen on the feeds (which went down earlier in the day). Hopefully, that will really start to get the excitement going. Grade: B-.
