ABC’s ‘Resurrection’ season 2: What we know now about renewal chances, series’ future
Tonight, “Resurrection” is set to end on ABC after a strong eight-episode run, which has turned out to be mostly an introduction to the world of Arcadia, Missouri, and also some of the characters. When the show first premiered, there were notions of it being an “event series” designed to only for this long … but that doesn’t look like the case anymore.
Tonight’s episode is being billed as the “season finale,” and when you look at the ratings, there is little reason to believe that there will not be a second season. While things have slowed down as of late, there is probably enough mileage for another eight episodes to continue and potentially even wrap up the story. As a matter of fact, we would almost situate season 2 as the end given the recent models established from other serialized dramas. These shows tend to lose steam quickly in their second years more often than not, and this allows for a fitting end rather than something that is rushed.
So what direction do we want to see the show go in? First and foremost, we’re excited about the idea of the returnee situation going national, and what sort of impact that has on the world. It will not take much time at all for the press to descend on this. You’ve certainly seen how crazy the media has gone with lesser stories, so imagine what they would do with this one (even if it is in a fictional world).
If there is another season coming, you can probably expect it to premiere at around the same time of the year in the late winter / early spring. That makes it a prime candidate to be a midseason replacement for a show that fared poorly in the ratings.
What do you want to see on “Resurrection” next season, provided that the show of course is renewed? Share your thoughts below, and head over to the link here to read some more news related to the show. We’ll also have a full review of the finale

I have mixed feelings about the show having a second part, I loved every second of the eight episodes, I actually watched the whole show online in a single night, because here, in Colombia (and I believe that Latin america in general) the release will be on may 20th, I have a ton of questions to be answer about the whole thing, the finale raises up even more questions, and I ended up perplex and wondering whats next or at least telling myself that there has to be an explanation for the raising of the dead. to summarize, i was so lost that I wanted to see a second part where they provide an explanation, but then i thought that may be its a good thing to end up in suspense, one always wants more but may be thats the whole point of that ending. i dont know.

I would like to see a second season where there is a good explanation for why the dead are coming back. That 2nd season should be the last.

I would hate to see this show end now. It is not good when people get into a show and then it never returns. I am 64 and my neighbor is 67 and we can’t wait to watch this show every Sunday night. I am praying you bring this show back. It is way better than so many show where there is killing and death all the time. I would hope that these people came back because it is from a higher power from above so they were able to do better the second time around or they died serving this country. Give us a good ending if you are going to take it away from us please. I would hope it could come back in the fall. Why do we have to wait till spring. An entire year. I don’t understand why this is done. Most shows come back faster. We who love this show now have to wait almost a year to know what will happen. I want to know about the baby and see people happy their loved ones are here to stay. Also I want to see Agent Belemy meet his family. What a treat. I love this show and I would hope our love for this show has some pull to bring it back to us. PLEASE do this and sooner than later. When people have to wait an entire year they can forget about it or are engaged in another series and then don’t watch it. I never miss an episode. I can watch what I miss 24 hours later if need be. Thank you and I will be ready to see what is going to happen next. Charlene
