‘Teen Wolf’ season 4 spoilers: Tyler Posey on hopes for dad story
If you love “Teen Wolf,” then we imagine you having a great deal of excitement for the upcoming fourth season. The series is a month and a half now away from its June 23 return, and there are many stories that have already gotten plenty of buzz. Take, for example, the return of Jill Wagner as Kate Argent, and also Arden Cho sticking around as Kira.
But what about Scott’s father? When you think about some of the flashier and more violent conversation topics with the show, this is one that can get very easily lost in the shuffle. However, it is going to be an important part of the story moving forward, which is why Tyler Posey said exactly what he did at the Bite Convention recently (as quoted by Hypable) on the subject:
“I think [Scott] wants his dad to try. It’s been a long time since he’s been in the picture and he understands that he and his mom probably didn’t get along. But he’s never really tried to make an effort at all. And he’s noticed that and now all of a sudden he’s in the picture and he just kind of wants to weasel in, and just kind of go under the radar and just kind of fall into the family that way. But Scott doesn’t want that. So he definitely wants some respect. He wants his dad to try. Because I think Scott’s gotten over the fact that he’s grown up his entire life without him. So I think he’s done judging that. But he does want his dad to try, which would be new in Scott’s world. So yeah, I do think he’d be receptive to [his dad reintegrating himself in Scott’s life]. But we’ll see.”
To us, it feels as though the important of this storyline is pretty simple: It enables the Scott character to stay at least a little bit human in an insane world. Often with these sort of shows, it can be very easy for things to start to come off the rails, and for the characters to lose touch with the humanity of it all. This is a preventative measure to help to ensure that this doesn’t happen with Scott, and you get to learn more about the sort of guy he is in the process.

Preventive measure? You must be joking. This is nothing more than Davis attempting to distract viewers from the glaring plot loopholes, lack of rounded characters, incomplete story-lines and abysmal continuity by throwing in yet more new characters and distracting the viewer with Scott’s ‘human’ problems. This is billed as a ‘supernatural’ show and is turning into yet another mediocre teen drama, there’s already enough and better ones out there. The show’s ONLY saving graces are Tyler Hoechlin and Dylan O’Brien.
