‘NCIS: Los Angeles’ season 5 spoilers: First photo of intense finale

A week from Tuesday, “NCIS: Los Angeles” kicks off what is going to be a pretty intense season finale, and one that is going to be a two-parter. The major twist? The second part of the finale is not going to air on CBS until the fall.

Why give you this sort of massive cliffhanger? there are some easy reasons to think why executive producer Shane Brennan elected to go in this direction.

1. The show was renewed early enough in the season that there was no reason to be concerned about whether or not the whole series would end on a cliffhanger (which would be pretty horrible).

2. Procedural shows do not often get an opportunity to do something a little more serialized, and this is an opportunity to do just that.

3. Cliffhangers are exciting! It is just a natural part of TV these days to have them, and they are by and large supported.

4. Given that “NCIS” proper isn’t having such an ending, this is a great opportunity for the original spin-off to go in that direction.

In case you are wondering in regards to the photo above, it doesn’t give away much. None of the photos out there are altogether revealing, and it is easy to understand why. For those wondering about Deeks and Kensi, all we can say for the time being is that their story is not going to be fully resolved in the finale. If you want to know what happens next with them, you’ll gave to wait until next season.
