‘Glee’ season 5: Fox says Naya Rivera not fired from show
Just in case you wanted some official clarification when it comes to what Naya Rivera is going to be doing on “Glee” moving beyond season 5, we now have it for you: She is still a part of the cast.
In a report from the Associated Press, Fox finally released a statement about the rumors surrounding her supposed dismissal from the show, saying that the talk has been completely false:
“There is no truth to the rumor Naya has been fired from the show … She remains under contract to ‘Glee.'”
While it is nice to have answers on this subject, there are still questions when it comes to some other things. For example, why are there reports about Naya not appearing in the finale, especially when Heather Morris is going to be returning as Brittany? In between that and her earlier absence from the show this season, this is all very curious given that there are no real explanations for it given. Maybe we’ll never know.
At the end of the day, though, the big story here for the time being is that there may not be anything for Santana fans to worry about. If she is still a part of the show, than the writers and company can sit down over the summer and figure out what they want to do with the character. We feel like there is certainly a chance that she comes back as a regular and appears in a number of episodes, or it’s also possible that she takes on a smaller role. There are quite a few variables in the end that will need to be looked at before the decision is finally made.
