‘Hart of Dixie’ season 3, episode 20 review: Who did Zoe kiss?

On “Hart of Dixie” season 3, there have been many a funny and also surprising moment. But on tonight’s “Together Again,” one of the biggest ones to us was simply seeing Dr. Zoe Hart actually make a (brief) move on someone who has been in her life since the beginning of the show: George Tucker.

This is where the show did one of the smartest things that they have ever done in that brief kissing scene between the two characters. They addressed the massive elephant in the room in that these two are both single, but they also recognized the evolution in these characters for a change. They are not the same people who they were at the end of season 1, and cannot go back to that.

After the kiss, George and Zoe had the natural resolution that we hoped for, at least in that the two of them realized that while being together was easy, it is not necessarily what they actually want. Instead, they have decided that they are better off pursing other things. There was enough of a hint in here that George was still into Lemon, and that Zoe was still into Wade. Shippers of those couples should be pleased.

As for the AnnaBeth story, we want to be more excited than we ultimately are. The issue is just that we have already seen so much on this show already from the camp of “meet her parents” that it’s hard to get that excited about it. We’re more interested in where Zoe and Wade go from here, and how that will be fun to witness after their long, messy walk home from a road trip gone terribly wrong. Grade: B+.
