‘Arrow’ season 2, episode 21 video: Laurel learns a Sebastian Blood secret
The fact that Wednesday night’s “Arrow” is named “City of Blood” is truly no coincidence. (Of course, there are spoilers ahead if you are behind in the series. We don’t want to be the one to ruin it for you!)
Following the death of Moira Queen, there is no one to contest Sebastian Blood in the race to become Mayor, and thanks to that, he will of course be in power … but does that really mean that he will be uncontested? In the video below, you you can see Laurel Lance has caught the scent of Blood yet again with the help of their father, and using their own expert hacker not named Felicity Smoak, they learn that Blood wrote a statement on Moira’s passing the day before it happened.
The interesting question that comes out of this is simple: Did Mayor Blood pen two separate statements for Thea or Moira depending on who Oliver decided to kill, or does this prove that Slade was going to kill Sebastian’s opponent regardless of who Oliver chose? Another question here is whether or not Sebastian furthered this plan by Slade along by telling him that Moira went back on her original plan to resign, which at one point appeared to be fairly set in stone.
The hard thing about what Laurel is doing is that while destroying Sebastian is right, it will be a move that could cause great pain for Starling City, given how many of them look at him as a working-class hero and a guy they can stand behind. It’s almost a Harvey Dent situation playing out here, and if the Mayor dies, how it will be handled could be very important to the city’s overall health.
