‘Sons of Anarchy’ season 7: Kim Coates, Mark Boone Junior chat at convention
Thank goodness for the convention circuit when it comes to giving us at least something new to discuss again when it comes to “Sons of Anarchy,” even if it is not necessarily the most revealing scoop on the road ahead for these bikers.
Instead, this story is mostly about enjoying the present, and looking forward to the future. Kim Coates and Mark Boone Junior were two of the celebrity guests at the Calgary Expo this weekend, which one of the many great Canadian conventions that doubles as their version of Comic-Con. The two showed up appropriately on motorcycles, and per the Calgary Herald, also talked a little bit about the show’s legacy. Boone first suggested that one of the reasons the series has built an audience is because not everyone knew what to expect at first, and this led into one of our favorite Coates lines to date:
“It’s got everything: it’s got Charlie [Hunnam’s] a**, it’s got bikes, it’s got some action, it’s got some sex, it’s got great women’s parts — which we need more of on TV all the time — and it’s got guys in leather. What’s wrong with that?”
Coates also said that while he loves the show and being a part of something so great, he is also looking forward to taking on the next great character that calls for a different look than one of the SAMCRO’s most-memorable members:
“I look forward to being bald or whatever it is for the next thing. But at the same time, guys like him (a.k.a. Boone) I think is why the show has been such a big hit. We are character actors through and through, 100 per cent. We inhabit these guys and these women and I am very proud of that. I am very proud to be a part of that.”
The site claims that production for at least these actors starts May 28, and that at least seems to be around the right time. For the sake of CarterMatt, though, we’ll just got with the blanket statement of production beginning in mid-to-late May since it is so difficult to get exact dates for every cast member.
We will of course have further “Sons of Anarchy” scoop as it becomes available, but you can go ahead and get some more over here. Want further updates via email? Then sign up for our CarterMatt Newsletter.
